| | Company Description | Vitatex is a privately held company developing personalized medicine diagnostic tests and technologies for metastasis research. Vitatex’s advantage stems for its unique ability to isolate invasive circulating tumor cells, or iCTCs, directly linked to the metastatic process. The company’s patented technology harnesses the very mechanism by which metastatic cells from tumors invade surrounding tissue and spread throughout the body – by attaching to and ingesting cell adhesion matrix (CAM). The company is developing its own cancer tests – robust measurement of iCTCs for prognosis and treatment monitoring, and culture of iCTCs in the presence of cancer drugs to optimize patient-specific treatment selection. Vitatex technology also has significant applications in development and testing of new cancer drugs, as a cell enrichment method for other companies’ molecular genomic diagnostics, and as fundamental new research tools to study metastasis. Vitatex’s is developing its own diagnostic products and services and partnering its devices and technology with other companies’ research and diagnostic applications. | |
