Summary

The Associate Director, Corporate Finance position will support the Finance function for the General and Administration (G&A) and Research organizations. As a key partner to the G&A/Research leadership teams, this position will provide financial guidance through analytics, financial modeling, and a strong understanding of the business.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on reporting and financial planning & analysis for G&A / Research organizations.
  • Drive the monthly and quarterly reporting cycles and lead the annual budget / financial planning activities.
  • Drive financial analysis of financial and operational results versus plan delivering financial insights and decision support to G&A leadership teams.
  • Responsible for G&A/Research Budget/Latest Estimate Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Oversee month end close activities related to necessary G&A accruals
  • Ensuring the highest standards of financial control and compliance in-line with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Business partner leadership: Engage with G&A/Research leadership and the Director, Corporate Finance to provide decision support through strategic and tactical financial analyses.
  • Build partnership with G&A/Research leadership to drive financial planning and reporting for G&A/Research organizations.
  • Develop scenarios to communicate the impact of trade-offs in investments to support decisions by leadership.
  • Drive analysis for investment decision support.
  • Lead review of G&A/Research investment business cases related to capex expenditures, side by side with the G&A Finance Manager.
  • Collaborate with key functional area heads (Facilities, Technical Operations, IT and Research) to manage Seagen’s Capex planning and management process.
  • Leadership.
  • Ability to independently interact with confidence and drive discussions on financial matters with G&A/Research Executive leadership.
  • Respectfully challenging the status quo and developing new processes to raise the bar with financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years in a FPA role with direct interaction with the business
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a business partner. with senior leaders in organization.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with financial modelling and investment analysis.
  • Demonstrated Strategic Ability: The ability to think bigger picture across diverse functional areas of the business and help arrive at the best decision for the overall organization. Ability to incorporate multiple perspectives and variables to analyze issues to reach an opinion and recommendation on best path forward along with articulation of pros and cons of different available options and proposed recommendations.
  • Results Orientation: The ideal candidate will be results-driven and must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The person must have the ability to deliver results and possess a strong drive to meet and exceed goals and is willing to take ownership of problems and make sound decisions. A “can-do” attitude is an absolute must.
  • Business Savvy and Financial Acumen: The candidate will possess exceptional financial analytical and problem-solving skills. These skills must be balanced by sound business judgment. Hands-on, with the ability to transition from strategic thinking to tactical execution.
  • Change Leadership: The candidate must be an independent self-starter and a proactive leader with a drive to strive for continuous improvement and consistently challenging the status quo. Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to influence all levels of the organization through providing data-driven analytics and insights that drive better results and decisions.
  • The ability to interact courageously and confidently with senior leadership to drive discussions on financial matters.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA is preferred.
