Summary: The role of the Sr. Solution Architect for Web Experience Solutions aids the technical direction for our Enterprise Digital capabilities. This person will help shape, design, and plan the portfolio’s long-range technology roadmap, to anticipate future business needs and maximize the long-term value of the digital space. The Sr. Solution Architect will provide mentorship and technical support to web teams across multiple initiatives; oversee web solutions built by various agencies across all Seagen business functions, to ensure Seagen solution standards are maintained and followed; and help design optimal web solutions, employing best practices for deployments, web analytics, and security.

Other responsibilities include collaborating with other enterprise architects and engineers to enforce architectural best practices and standards. The Solution Architect may also be asked to lead solution teams and flex staff that are involved in the design, implementation, and operational aspects of Seagen web sites. The successful solution architect will work closely with leadership, the Enterprise Architecture team, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise web experience capabilities and services to Seagen.

Responsibilities:

Solution Design:

  • Create solution options that align Web Experiences capabilities with business sponsor’s missions, goals, and objectives with consideration of both technical and non-technical implications and trade-offs
  • Identify areas for Web Experience technology improvements and help to resolve Web site problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction
  • Review and recommend selection of third-party software platforms as needed
  • Develop and leverage a broad understanding of the overall Global IT landscape and Seagen business architecture, including integration of existing services and APIs
  • Document processes to support ongoing maintenance and service integrity

Solution Implementation:

  • Produce solution blueprints that guide the development and implementation of web sites for Seagen
  • Demonstrate experience in managing web solutions and related services
  • Provide direction to internal teams and vendors to deliver web experiences for Seagen

Leadership:

  • In collaboration with subject matter experts and Enterprise Architecture, IT Privacy and Security, define and implement data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure Web Experiences are complete, secure, and reliable
  • Direct the day-to-day work of flex staff and vendors as necessary
  • Share solutions and outcomes with Web Experiences to improve delivery on future initiatives

Customer Engagement:

  • Incorporate user requirements into the Web Experiences solution architecture to support business strategies
  • Collaborate with domain IT teams from on-boarding to Web Experiences release activities

Product and Service Strategy:

  • Ensure web site implementations support technology and business roadmaps
  • Proactively seek out and advocate for opportunities to apply technical innovations to business needs

Continual Improvement:

  • Frequently monitor the business capability landscape to identify opportunities for greater long-term business value
  • Frequently monitor the industry solution landscape to track the development of available solutions and identify opportunities for adapting to the enterprise Web Experiences service architecture
  • Partner with peers in Enterprise Architecture team to ensure the Web Experiences framework remains relevant and useful

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of IT experience with major focus on web and content related ecosystems
  • 4+ years of experience working with and delivering web and content related solutions
  • Demonstratable experience in leading technical teams on implementation needs Understanding of web architecture concepts and web service infrastructure design
  • Experience working with data management applications such as Azure Front Door, Azure Application Gateway, Azure Web Sites, Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL DB and CosmosDb, Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Sitecore Understanding of CCPA and GDPR regulations and impact on Seagen services
  • Exceptional teaming skills encompassing cross-functional teams, peer relationships, informing, understanding, and appreciating differences
  • A continuous learner, keeping existing technical skills up to date while seeking out new technology trends in technical domains relevant to assigned portfolio
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the concepts of new cloud technologies and other paradigms such as emerging web technologies, CD/CD, and Agile methodologies
  • Accepts responsibility and personal accountability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience within the biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in infrastructure architecture, infrastructure management, computer science, or a related field
