Summary
The post holder shall collaborate with Canada country/LATAM cluster leadership and key regional stakeholders to deliver a robust, best-in-class, commercial demand planning process. Leveraging technology, rigorous data analysis and stakeholder insights, the post holder shall work to improve forecast accuracy as a critical component enabling flawless supply to both customers and patients. The post holder shall also oversee supply agreements and operations, including business reviews, across Logistics Service Provider(s) ‘final mile.’
Principal Responsibilities
- Act as primary interface for EU country/cluster leadership [General Manager, Marketing, Sales] and key regional stakeholders [Brand Analytics/Market Insights, Finance] on matters concerning product demand, consensus forecasting and finished pack/local inventory availability
- Moderate the demand review process with country/cluster leadership and key regional stakeholders to define a [SKU level] consensus forecast that can be used for upstream Supply Chain planning purposes against short-and long-term horizons
- Ensure solid assumptions around product lifecycle and external/internal influences [such as competitor and market factors, country/cluster promotional activities, strategic decisions and/or business targets] are fully evaluated and built into consensus forecasts
- Own timely and accurate intake/submission of the consensus forecast towards Supply Operations software/planning systems
- Partner with Global Planning to set and adjust [SKU level] inventory target guardrails and forecast targets
- Champion deployment of EU forecast metrics/KPI’s, ensuring full engagement of country/cluster leadership and regional stakeholders and drive improvements in forecast accuracy
- Leverage Supply Operations software/planning systems to monitor availability of finished pack/local inventory in line with targets, escalating risks to Site Supply to ensure mitigating actions where required
- Analyze, prepare and present product demand, consensus forecasting and inventory topics as part of the IBP [Integrated Business Planning] cycle
- Generate, validate and distribute reports to country/cluster leadership and regional stakeholders, offering commentary and insight on product demand, consensus forecasting and finished pack/local inventory availability
- Supervise Logistics Service Provider(s) end-to-end performance and ensure adherence to contractual service levels/KPI’s, course correcting as needed
- Monitor Logistics Service Provider(s) provision of warehousing, ‘final mile’ delivery and order-to-cash activities. Work in close partnership with local/regional Quality and Finance to ensure services meet local regulatory and compliance expectations
- Lead future contract negotiations/extensions/adjustments to supply agreements
- Lead quarterly business reviews with Logistics Service Provider(s)
- Collaborate with Logistics Service Provider(s), country/cluster leadership and key regional stakeholders to identify and execute cost saving opportunity to reduce the overall cost-to-serve
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7+ years proven work experience within the pharmaceutical sector, preferably in operations roles (e.g., demand planning, supply planning, production leadership, production planning/scheduling inventory management, commercial operations)
- Of which, a minimum of 2+ years proven work experience was spent in demand management/forecasting role(s)
- Experience deploying a basic sales & operations planning process
- Prior exposure to IBP
Experience working with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning system (SAP, Oracle)
- Experience working with Kinaxis Rapid Response (or similar)
- Strong working knowledge of forecasting best practice, processes, and tools within a commercial pharmaceutical environment
- Strong working knowledge of warehousing, distribution, and order to cash processes
- Strong working knowledge of tendering, contracting and performance management of Logistics Service Provider(s)
- Travel (< 20%)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., business, supply chain, finance); or MBA
- APICS or Six Sigma Certification
- Project Management qualification (PRINCE2 or similar)
