Summary

The Associate Director, Global Value & Access Operations will lead the GVA Program and Project Management team and provide support for the Global Value & Access Leadership Team and their functions in the development and execution of strategic and tactical initiatives designed to deliver on the critical success factors to secure access for existing and future brands.

In addition to leading the PPM team, the Associate Director will provide support for various GVA change management, process implementation, strategic process development, and talent development processes as needed.

This role requires strategic agility, leadership and people management expertise, impeccable project management and “organizational” skills, a history of effective cross-functional collaboration and teamwork, expertise in business systems, and the ability to produce solutions-oriented results in a unique, challenging, and fast-paced environment. The Associate Director, GVA Operations will report to the Director, GVA Operations.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Lead the GVA Project and Program Management team to deliver high-quality outputs to support value access product launches and functional excellence Own the project and program management dashboard and provide regular updates to the GVA leadership team and project sponsors.
  • Identify a pipeline of high-value business needs for the program and project management team Drive the continuous improvement mindset for GVA by challenging GVA ways of working.
  • Own relationship and contracts with the program and project management vendor.
  • Champion program management and change management disciplines using tools and enablers to support including decision tracking, file sharing, etc.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies to ensure efficient and effective communication with key stakeholders, including, but not limited to formal reporting requirements, maintaining open communication among project sponsors and interested parties.
  • Design, conduct, and continuously improve program/project monitor and control mechanisms (e.g., program review, ad-hoc project reviews) with the project team, stakeholders, and sponsors.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing performance metrics for monitoring product launches to drive consistency across the portfolio.
  • Support of Director of Operations with the strategic and tactical planning processes and execution across GVA, including annual strategic planning, quarterly business reviews, talent development, organizational design, and launch planning efforts.
  • Drive performance and efficiency improvements to unlock productivity and accelerate execution and support project management of these initiatives.
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key leaders both within GVA and with cross-functional partners in global marketing, franchises, finance, commercial operations, and training and development.
  • Serves as GVA lead and liaison between commercial operations and IT to support the execution of initiatives supporting the GVA teams.
  • Proactively engage with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues, conflicts, and interdependencies.
  • Support the development of GVA goals, establish accountability, and monitor progress to unsure alignment with broader commercial and company goals.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader, critical and creative thinker, possess the desire to appropriately challenge the status quo, and seek to innovate. The ideal candidate will have extensive project management skills, expertise in SFA platforms and pharma-related business systems, both excellent written and oral communication skills, and possess expert-level proficiency with .ppt, .xls, SharePoint, etc.

  • 10+ years of proven success in any of the following roles is required - project management, market access, HEOR, pricing, marketing, and/or commercial operations.
  • Previous direct people leadership experience.
  • Oncology background is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Excellent business acumen, demonstrated ability to align teams to strategy to achieve business and project objectives.
  • Experience leading and facilitating project team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making, and ensuring ongoing alignment with internal/external stakeholders.
  • A proactive and strategic thinker, with strong facilitation, problem-solving, and issue resolution skills.
  • Highly collaborative leader with outstanding communication and relationship management skills, and high emotional intelligence.
  • Adaptive leadership style with the ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Must be customer-centric and excel in teamwork and collaboration.
  • Some travel required (approx. 25%).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required, an advanced degree in related field preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
